About Hanifaru Bay
Hanifaru Bay is the Maldives’ best-known manta-ray gathering, inside the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve designated in 2011, whose reefs also host whale sharks and turtles. UNESCO notes the rainy monsoon runs from May to November. Visits are organised through licensed operators and resort dive centres, which brief you on the reserve’s rules.
