About Ihavandhoo Friday Mosque

Ihavandhoo’s Friday Mosque was completed on 16 December 1701 and bears the symbol of Sultan Ibrahim Muzhiruddin. Its octagonal coral-stone well still supplies sweet water, and its cemetery holds members of the family of national hero Bodu Thakurufaanu. The old mosque now stands inside a modern one.
